Position Summary
This position is highly visible in a growing technical team. The Engineer – Technical
Service & Development is responsible for customer field technical service support in Asia
- China, reporting to the Senior Manager for Technical Service and Development. This
position is also responsible for the technical aspects of new product development, including
customer trials. The candidate should excel in interacting with multi-national development
partners and clients on a technical level while facilitating the business relationships.
Traveling both domestically and internationally as necessary is required.
Primary Responsibilities
• Maximize use of our new and existing products through development of
applications technology, improvement of process technology, and customer
technical support activities
• Ability to work closely with customers technical teams, collaboratively in the
development, qualification and validation of new products
• New product implementation and qualification coordination with customers
• Troubleshoot film and/or equipment performance
• Collaborate with Quality team to improve customer satisfaction
• Work with the R&D teams within the new product development process
• Formulate and implement appropriate laboratory and field testing procedures as
required
• Provide effective customer technical service in collaboration with the Sales team

Qualifications
• B.S./M.S. in Chemical or Packaging Engineering
• Three (3) plus years of industry experience
• Required areas of technical expertise and experience
o Flexible polymer film conversion / preferred experience in plastic
packaging materials (PET, PP, PE) and processes as well as sustainable
materials
o Packaging machinery and materials
o Physical/mechanical testing
• Demonstrated customer technical service experience
• Experience working with a cross-functional, global team
• Understanding of coating, casting, extrusion, and web handling processes is
beneficial
• Working knowledge of water-soluble films, a plus but not required
• Understanding of Quality systems & strong statistical skills. 6-sigma certification
preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in problem solving techniques, including root cause
analysis
• A team player with communication skills to build and maintain productive work
relationships
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
• Ability travel frequently to Hong Kong
